Q. How would you check your tyres for sufficient tread depth and what should they be?
A. Use a reliable tread gauge. The tread should be a minimum of 1.6mm across the middle ¾ of the tyre and around the whole circumference.
Q. How would you check your tyres for sufficient pressure and where would you find the information about the pressures?
A. A reliable pressure gauge is needed; refer to the owner’s manual for the information. Should be checked whilst cold, an unmoved vehicle should be fine.
When checking tyres for tread or pressure a visual check is needed. The tyre should be free of any cracks, bulges or any other visual damage, check all five tyres (remember the Spare).
