Pass Plus Driving Lessons

Pass Plus - driving lessons wakefield
The Pass Plus is an additional (minimum of) 6 hours of lessons created specifically by the Driving Standards Agency for newly passed drivers, or even experienced ones who feel the need to undertake extra lessons. The goal is to provide newly passed drivers added confidence and knowledge for the road after passing the practical test and provides many benefits.

It will turn you into a far more assured car driver, capable of handling all sorts of modern day hazards for example busy motorways as well as town and city centre one way systems, it should also grant you a reduction on your insurance.

Regardless of where you have taken your driving lessons, whether in small towns such as Heckmondwike, Dewsbury or Batley, or larger cities such as Wakefield, the Pass Plus is going to show you the way to handle many various roads and traffic situations, some of which cannot always be practiced in lessons before test.

The program doesn’t require that you take a test at the end; instead an assessment of your progress is made. On completion you and your instructor have a report to complete; this is then posted to the DSA who will then issue you your certificate.

The Pass Plus is made up of six different parts:

  • Town/city centre driving
  • All weather driving
  • Rural roads
  • Night time driving
  • Dual carriageways
  • Motorways

Passing a test at either Wakefield or Heckmondwike means you won’t get chance to drive in a bigger city such as Leeds, so taking pass plus will mean that Leeds will not be an issue the first time you go. Due to L-plate restrictions motorway driving is not on the agenda whilst taking lessons, taking pass plus will mean you get to have your Instructor at the side of you the first time you are behind the wheel on the motorway. As for dual carriageways you will be taken to some unfamiliar, more challenging ones.

Pass Plus can also be useful for experienced drivers who have a lack of confidence in any of the six modules.

If you would like more information you can use the contact form, or use the Government Pass Plus Website.
